Urs Fischer - False Friends.

Urs Fischer – False Friends brings together an original selection of works from the Dakis Joannou Collection, for the first time at the Museum of Art and History of Geneva.

Conceived by curator Massimiliano Gioni as an unusual synthesis between a solo show and a group exhibition, False Friends pairs an ensemble of works by Urs Fischer (b. 1973), one of the most innovative Swiss artists of his generation, with sculptures and paintings by established figures of contemporary art such as Maurizio Cattelan, Fischli & Weiss, and Jeff Koons.

Establishing unexpected connections between artworks and aesthetics, methods and materials, False Friends continues the tradition of experimental exhibitions organized by Dakis Joannou’s DESTE Foundation, a non-profit organisation founded
in Geneva thirty years ago.

This exhibition is organised jointly by the MAH, the DESTE Foundation, with the collaboration of Art for the World and is supported by the Compagnie Bancaire Helvétique SA.
